Painting your space, inside or out, can be a big project that conjures up images of drop cloths and masking tape, ladders, paint cans, brushes, sprayers and rollers. What can you expect when you book a job with Precision Painting Plus? In this post we’ll explain the five steps we take in any painting project along with tips you can use to be prepared for a professional painting experience.
Step 1 – The Estimate
Once you contact us the first step is to schedule your in-home estimate with one of our experienced project managers. We work with your schedule to set-up a time and give you a one hour time window of when to expect us. We’ll give you a call when we’re on our way to let you know exactly when one of our expert project managers will be arriving. During your appointment the project manager will go through your project in detail and answer any questions you may have, they can even coordinate a free color consultation if you need. Our project managers arrive armed with a custom built note taking and estimating app designed to make the estimating process as easy and accurate as possible. In some cases, we’ll be able to use the app to generate an estimate on site or for more complex jobs, we’ll email you your estimate within 24 hours.
Step 2 – Getting Started
Now you’ve got your estimate and you’re ready to get started. A signature and a deposit is all it takes to get the ball rolling. We’ll work with you to schedule a start date and then the fun part begins! We have many resources to help you select paint, colors, trims and other details that will make your space look its best. We work with both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paints and will assist you in purchasing the right quantity and type of paint. From our web based paint selection tool, to a visit from a color consultation specialist, we have the proper staff to address all your needs. Our specialists can even educate you on the different types of paint and suggest formulations that are hypoallergenic.
Step 3 – The Prep
You have your estimate, you have your paint, time for action! But first, preparation. During your estimate appointment, the project manager will discuss if you should be present for the duration of the project and the sequence of what will be painted first. For any exterior paint job, power washing is required prior to painting to ensure a quality job that will last. And for any project it’s best if plants, furniture and fragile items are moved out of the way ahead of time. We’re always happy to assist with light furniture moving, fixture relocating, masking and prep work if needed.
Step 4 – The Paint
Once the prep work is complete and all spaces are masked and ready, painting begins! Every job we do has a full staff including a senior project manager that will help you work through every detail and a dedicated project manager who will be on-site managing your painting crew. The project management staff will keep you updated, answer any questions that may arise and keep your project on-track, even planning for any additional insurance documentation and around contingencies like weather.
Step 5 – Clean Up and Enjoy
Once the painters have finished their work, the crew will do their best to leave the space the same, or better, than they found it. Paint can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to dry depending on the conditions, so some objects made need to be restored after our crew has left, but we always work to help in any way we can. Most of our paint jobs come with a one year warranty, but our goal is that you’ll never have to use it and that your space will look beautiful for years to come.
